Solar lightning arrestors are typically installed on the roofs of buildings to provide a path for lightning strikes to be grounded. A lightning arrester kit includes a high-voltage terminal, a ground earthing terminal (rod), copper wires for connections and earthing chemicals.

The copper strip or copper wire is connected between the lightning arrester and the ground earthing rod to allow the surge current to flow to the ground via the earthing system.

Earthing Rod for Solar
An earthing rod is a metal rod with upto 100MM copper bonding that provides a connection to the Earth’s surface. It is used to transfer the voltage strike from lightning arrester to the ground, either through a DC wire, cable or metallic strip.
Earthing is the most fundamental technique for protection against damage by lightning strike. An electrical path to ground via an earthing rod will discharge the surge and static electricity that accumulates in an aboveground structure on a continuous basis. This frequently prevents the attraction of lightning in the first place.
